Jeju United Vs Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors Preview (Peace Cup)

Jeju United Vs Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors - 7pm, Wednesday, 27th May 2009 (Jeju World Cup Stadium, Seogwipo)

Jeju enter this match knowing that any result except a Jeonbuk victory by two or more goals will be sufficient to advance to the quarter finals of this season's Peace Cup.

Whilst normally this would make supporters confident of Jeju's chances, the humiliating 5-0 drubbing inflicted by Jeonbuk at the start of the month is still fresh in the memory. United have improved greatly over the course of the month though, and with the injury crisis easing, they will present a much harder proposition to Jeonbuk this time around.

Ultimately the match will be decided by how much the respective sides want to win this one. The Peace Cup is not a priority for Jeonbuk and will hopefully mean that they field a weakened team.

Previous meetings:
Jeju have a poor record against Jeonbuk in the K-League
they have only achieved one win and a draw in the last 3 years having lost 5 games in the process:

2nd May 2009 - Jeju United 0-5 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors

5th Oct 2008 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-1 Jeju United
10th May 2008
Jeju United 0-1 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors
10th Oct 2007

16th June 2007
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-1 Jeju United
30th Aug 2006
Jeju United 2-1 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors
18th March 2006

Jeju's record isn't much better in the Korean League Cup either, having suffered two defeats in the last three games.

25th April 2007 - Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 1-0 Jeju United

14th March 2007 - Jeju United 2-0 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors

29th July 2006 - Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 2-0 Jeju United
