Two goals in the last 11 minutes saw Jeju comeback from behind to beat Gyeongnam 2-1 in the Peace Cup on Tuesday. The result means that Jeju will qualify for the quarter finals of the competition as long as they avoid losing by two or more goals at home to Jeonbuk on 27th May.

Both sides threatened early on in the first half, with Bang Seung-Hwan having a well placed shot from 25 yards out saved by keeper Shin Seung-Kyun. It was Gyeongnam, however, who slowly began to dominate the game. The home side had the ball in the back of the net on 13 minutes thanks to a Kim Dong-Hyun finish, however the striker was judged to have fouled Kim Song-Min.

Just three minutes later Gyeongnam took the lead when Kim Tae-Wook converted a Lee Yong-Rae corner. The midfielder was left unmarked in the six yard box to easily head home.

Things went from bad to worse on 31 minutes when Ku Kyung-Hyeong suffered an injury. Brazilian Vieira came on to replace him. Jeju slowly recovered though and Gyeongnam struggled to create any further clear cut chances.

Coach Arthur Bernardes adopted a much more attacking strategy in the second half, bringing on Gu Ja-Cheol for Baek Jong-Hwan on 52 minutes and then replacing Chun Jae-Woon with Oveira 12 minutes later. In the final twenty minutes Jeju attacked with purpose, trying to find the equaliser.

Shim Young-Sung and Oveira both had shots saved before Gu Ja-Cheol was able to hit home an Oveira cross with a half-volley on 79 minutes. The equaliser was well deserved and Jeju pushed on for victory.

The winner came on 84 minutes when Shim Young-Sung used some great ball control to get inbetween two Gyeongnam defenders to shoot home a pass from Gu Ja-Cheol. It was a well deserved goal for the striker who had threatened for much of the second half.

Gyeongnam tried in vain to find a late equaliser but despite five minutes of injury time they were unable to break through the Jeju defence. At the final whistle Jeju celebrated an important victory which marked the club's first win over Gyeongnam in seven games.
